The Institute of Psychological Sciences and Research stands as India's leading independent establishment for psychological sciences, research, clinical practice, innovation, and professional education, recognised worldwide for its contributions to evidence-based mental health and committed to nurturing the future generation of mental health professionals and scholars. IOPSR India serves as a platform for psychological education and research with the ambition to emerge as a top institute in the field of mental health education and research. It was initially established as the academic division of The Bodhi Centre, which operates as our service-oriented facility.
Although there have been notable improvements in psychology education and awareness of mental health in India, several systemic obstacles persist, including limited financial and human resources, inadequate public engagement, inconsistencies in the quality of professional training, insufficient collaboration between academic institutions, NGOs, and the private sector, along with a lack of effective monitoring and evaluation systems. These challenges hinder the reach, effectiveness, and sustainability of mental health initiatives.
IOPSR India concentrates on expert-driven psychology education, research, internships, workshops, and professional training courses. The objective is to enhance psychological sciences through comprehensive education, research, and practical application while striving to make mental health education more widely available. Through innovative academic programs, cooperative research, technology-assisted learning, and ongoing quality enhancement strategies, IOPSR India aims to cultivate a capable mental health workforce, promote public awareness, strengthen intersectoral collaboration, and make significant contributions to the evolution of psychological sciences and mental healthcare in India and beyond.
Dr. Hansa Kinkini DevRoy:
Founder-Director & Head of Academics
Dr. Hansa Kinkini Dev Roy is the Founder and Head of Academics at the Institute of Psychological Sciences and Research (IOPSR) in India. An esteemed psychologist and Professor of Psychology, she specialises in developmental and clinical psychology. Dr. Dev Roy leads the Psychology Department at IOPSR and manages the Bodhi Centre.
She teaches Psychology at Southern New Hampshire University in the USA and is also the Editor-In-Chief of IJIP. She has previously taught at the James Lind Institute in Geneva and the University of Calcutta. As a Senior Psychologist in Kolkata, she collaborates with various national and international educational institutions. A rank holder at the University of Calcutta, her research interests includes clinical psychology, psychotherapy, and higher education, and she has published extensively in reputable journals, underscoring her dedication to advancing psychological science and practice.

Mr Mohan Bose is a graphologist with over 35 years of experience. In 2002, he founded the Kolkata Institute of Graphology (KIG), focusing on Graphotherapy, which improves behaviour through handwriting changes. As the Head of Graphology at KIG, he also provides career counselling and recruitment services. His noteworthy contributions include:
- Training Indian Defence Personnel on critical issues like suicide prevention.
- Teaching in a Post-Graduate Diploma in Family Counselling at the University of Calcutta.
- Educating thousands in graphology, many of whom work globally.
- Establishing a Graphotherapy Department with psychologists for youth support et.al.
He has written several books on graphology, including guides for parents and teachers, as well as analyses of figures like Rabindranath Tagore. We are honored to have him as an advisor at IOPSR India.
Dr. Subhabrata Bhakta
Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr. Subhabrata Bhakta brings over two decades of experience in mental health care and serves as a Visiting Consultant Psychiatrist at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Howrah, since 2013. An alumnus of the University of Calcutta, where he ranked first in MD Psychiatry, he is known for his expertise in stress-related disorders, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, psychological trauma, and child and adolescent psychiatric conditions.
He has worked with several renowned institutions, including Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital and GD Hospital & Diabetes Institute.He emphasises a compassionate, patient-centred approach, integrating evidence-based care with individualised treatment plans. At IOPSR INDIA, he advances holistic mental healthcare through a commitment to clinical excellence and ethical practice, earning the trust of numerous individuals and families.

Teaching Associate and Internship Department Incharge
Ms. Akansha Bhattacharjee has been a Teaching Associate in Psychology for several years and leads the Internship Department in Mental Health at IOPSR India. A gold medalist in psychology with multiple mental health certifications, she also practices counselling and various therapies, including play, art, couple/family therapy, and psycho-oncology. She has qualified for the GATE and NET examinations in psychology and is involved in research and teaching at other institutions. Additionally, she has a strong interest in integrating spiritual arts into her work.

Ms. Swastika Banerjee Majumder is a Teaching Associate at IOPSR (Institute of Psychological Sciences and Research, India). She holds an M.Sc. in Applied Psychology and a B.Ed. in Psychology, with her research on children and adolescents published in a peer-reviewed journal. Her work is dedicated to promoting psychological well-being through evidence-based education and counselling. She has a strong interest in student mental health, emotional development, and creating supportive environments that foster learning, resilience, and personal growth. Through her academic expertise and compassionate approach, she is committed to empowering individuals and contributing to the advancement of mental health education and psychological services.

ACADEMIC COORDINATOR
Mr. Sujan Dey is the Academic Coordinator at IOPSR India. He specializes in graphology, graphotherapy, behavioural analysis, and counselling. His work focuses on integrating psychology, research, and handwriting analysis to enhance the understanding of personality and behaviour.
He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling as well as an M.Sc. in Zoology, and he has received certifications in Graphology, Psychology, and Body Language. With extensive experience in handwriting assessments, graphotherapy, and academic training, he is dedicated to promoting psychological awareness and applying behavioural sciences in practical settings. Additionally, he plays a crucial role in providing administrative support to the team.
